Stuart Quan is the Chief Investment Officer and founder of Powder Ridge Capital and has nearly thirty years of experience investing in both publicly traded and privately held U.S. companies. For the balance of his career, he has focused on investing in publicly traded companies listed on U.S. stock exchanges.
Stuart began his career as an investment and merchant banking analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), and DLJ Merchant Banking Partners. He joined DLJ after graduating with honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1993 with concentrations in Finance and Accounting. Upon completion of the investment banking program at DLJ, Mr. Quan joined the private equity firm McCown DeLeeuw & Co. where he was engaged in the comprehensive due diligence and execution of several leveraged buyouts.
Following his LBO experience, Mr. Quan then joined Dickstein Partners as a vice president focused on value and event-driven equities as well as distressed credits. He was then asked to join Centurion Investment Group, a spinoff of Soros Fund Management where he focused on long/short equities and was promoted to partner after two years.
Subsequently, Stuart started Zander Capital Management LLC, a $400 million U.S. equity focused fund which he ran for seven years. Stuart then joined Roystone Capital Management, a $2 billion asset manager where he helped build the firm and managed equity capital in excess of $200 million. In order to broader his experience managing private wealth, Stuart joined the family office of Eden Capital where he managed an equity portfolio prior to founding Powder Ridge Capital.
Stuart resides in New York City and Sagaponack, New York with his wife and son. He is an avid snowboarder, cyclist, and outdoor enthusiast.
